The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Asceticism is my profession. The meaning of asceticism in the dictionary is disinterest. In the term of Shari'ah, not being interested in worldly possessions is called asceticism. Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal mentions three types of this: 1. Abandoning haraam is the asceticism of the people. Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) has described asceticism as his profession. This means that all the means and resources that are going to lead to Allah should be removed and attention should be paid to Allah with full care. To be taken Asceticism is, in fact, neither trusting in the present nor regretting what is missing. May Allah grant us the ability to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Amen.
