The tribes of Bhakkar
The first installment
The area on the west bank of the Thal Desert and the east bank of the Indus Sea where turtles meet. It is written as Bhakkar. But people seem to speak it fluently in Seraiki dialect. Bhakkar is pronounced as Bhakkar in folk traditions. All the birds and animals are found crying for water. On the other hand, in the Kachhi area when the Indus Sea boils. So it spreads in its foothills, settlements, crops, forests and oxen.
It is said that a man named "Bakho" lived at the present place of Bhakkar. This town is called Bhakko after the same name
"Scattered" became famous. Later it was transformed from a town to a city by the passage of time. And his name became famous.
The name of the settlement settled by him was Bakhu.
The foundation of Bhakkar was laid by a man named Bakhu, a descendant of the nation. According to the 1961 census report of Mianwali district, it has also been claimed. That in 1378 a man named Bakhu had settled Bhakkar.
In Thal and Kachhi, settlements have always been named after humans, animals, trees and tribes. Jandawala is famous for its jund trees.
Now the problem is that if most of the settlements in Thal and Nashab are named after individuals and tribes. Baloch bakho ka or utira bakho ka.
The historical facts about the Atra family of the past are as follows
I am Azharul Shams. It is said that Raj Vardhan is from Bhatti family. Raj Vardhan had two wives, one from Bhatti family and the other from non-nationals. Bhatti's wife Kaliar Noon Kanjan and Hattar were born to him while Atira was born from the womb of a non-national wife. History has it that Bhatti Khatun had four sons. He became a Muslim by reciting the Kalima Sharif at the hands of Surkh Bukhari.
Bhakto is a pure Seraiki name. In our opinion, bakhna in Urdu is said to be burning. According to this thought, bakhna means a person who always maintains his existence.
That is why bakho is found in a common name of Seraiki areas.
Utra family Bhakkar ,Khushab ,Layyah Lodhran and Multan is settled in DG Khan. In Lodhran and DG Khan they call themselves Rana. In Layyah and Bhakkar these families call themselves Malik. Have been connected to
The Sarai sect is well known with reference to Syed Meera Muhammad Jaunpuri. Historical references have proved wrong that it was founded by a man named Bhikkhu of the Atra tribe who founded Bhakkar. Bhakkar had been settled long before.
Now let's come to Bakhu Baloch. Historical evidence shows that the arrival of Baloch tribes in Thal Kachhi districts of Layyah Bhakkar Mianwali took place around 1470 AD. Earlier, Baloch and Afghan tribes were engaged in looting by attacking the northwestern border of Multan. God's creatures were fed up with these Baloch and Pathan looters. They had created chaos in the north and west of Multan. Rai Sehra Lingah who became the ruler of Multan under the name of Sultan Qutbuddin. He did not pay any special attention to the areas of Thal in his time. After that his son Sultan Hussain Lingah became the ruler. So he turned his attention to Jhang and Thal.
Extend your borders to Dhankot.
Sultan Hussain made his brother Shahab-ud-Din the governor of Kot Crore by making the present Crore Lal Aisan a morning place.
When Bar Book Shah Lodhi invaded Multan, Baloch Sardar Sohrab Khan came to the service of Sultan Hussain from Balochistan on two midwives. Thus, history succeeds in proving that when the Baloch tribes came to the land of Bhakkar, the city of Bhakkar was already inhabited as a city. Bakhu Baloch. Because Bhakkar was settled long before these two.
The ancient town was destroyed several times by the flooding of the Indus River. The name of the population is gone. The strong waves of the Indus Sea swept it away many times. So the town became known as Behkar (Behkar) among the people. The form is seated in the open field. This particular place was also called Behk. People used to graze animals in the forests all day and keep the animals by the river at night. And they also used to spend the night themselves. When the people found this place a little safer and built huts to live in, this place became known as Bhakkar.
Along with the Indus Sea, there was an excellent pasture around Bhakkar. In summer, the bhakra plant grows well. People used to graze their animals here. Gradually, people started living on the banks of the river. First Bhakra then Bhakra and later Bhakra became famous.
Sher Khan, the governor of Multan, built a series of forts at Thal. He also built a fort at Bhakkar to counter the Western invaders. This place was very important from a defensive point of view. Because the invaders coming from Dara Gomal Dara Tochi and Dara Kurram always crossed the Indus River from the present Bhakkar to the northwest and attacked Thal and then Multan. To protect himself from these attacks, Sher Khan built a series of forts. These forts were built at Mankira Kot Addu and Layyah. According to another untouchable idea, at first a Hindu yogi named Bakhu built a hut and took up residence in it. Later, devotees of this Jogi also settled here. Due to which this place became famous as Bhakkar with reference to a Jogi named Bakh. ۔
After the defeat of the Sama dynasty in Sindh, the scattered Samra people renamed the new population Bhakkar after their ancient city Bhakkar (Sindh).
Since these people of the Samra nation were called Bakhri because they came from Bhakkar Sindh, this place may have become more famous than Bhakri.
There is a tribe called Bukhar which is still inhabited in many districts except Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Sargodha, DG Khan and Rajanpur. But this tribe does not exist in Bhakkar. The people of Bhakkar or Bhakral tribe are called Bhakkar in some areas and Bhakral in others.
About three thousand years ago, when the Indus River began to erode and start flowing towards the west, it devoured all the cities, villages and settlements along the way. So the people living in these cities and settlements also dispersed.
Between the sixth and seventh centuries, the area west of the Indus River became insecure due to mountain looting. So people started living on the east bank of the Indus River. If you do not travel along the Indus River to Karachi. Look at the populated cities from Klorkot to Muzaffargarh. Then you will see all these cities in one line.
Naturally, this is the same line where there is a difference of 22 to 15 feet high and low in the entire Bhakkar from Klorkot to Behl and on the banks of the river Indus. People felt safe from the floods of the Indus Sea and the desolation of the land.
Bhakkar is an ancient city. There were very old and ancient buildings here. But all these accidents fell victim to the times.
Even today, in the whole of Thal, if you can find idols of old settlements and cities. They are remnants of Buddhism. Bhakkar was a city. Where there was a Buddhist stupa. And the arrival of Chinese tourist Hyun Mang for Bhakkar could be no other reason than that there were Buddhist places of worship here. Even Buddhist monks lived in Bhakkar.
