 * Ibn Batuta

 Great men have been born among the Muslims. They have done great deeds in the fourteen hundred years of Islam. They have enriched the world with their knowledge. They have increased the power of Islam and made the name of the Muslims four moons.  Ibn Battuta is an important name among them. Ibn Battuta is counted among these people.

 Ibn Battuta was born in Tangier, Morocco, on February 24, 1304 AD. He was born into a family of scholars. His family was a family of judges. Following in the footsteps of the elders, he acquired knowledge and studied Islamic law thoroughly.  He came to Mecca for the first time as a tourist. Before performing the Hajj, he traveled to Algeria, Tunisia, Tripoli and Egypt because this was the way to reach the Hijaz. In Alexandria, Egypt.  After staying for a long time, he met with the scholars, elders and Sufis here and discussed scientific and religious issues. He praised Alexandria in his travelogue. After that he came to Jerusalem. Here he visited the first qiblah.  Later he went to Madinah. After reaching Mecca and receiving the blessings of Hajj, he stayed here for three years. Then he visited the coastal areas of East Africa and visited Tanzania and Oman. In 1332 AD, he came to Mecca again.

 He then came to India and at that time India was ruled by Muhammad Tughlaq. Muhammad Tughlaq was a generous, knowledgeable and wise king. To enter India, he entered Sindh in 1333 AD via Iraq, Turkey, Iran and Afghanistan.  He visited every area of ​​Sindh. From Sehwan, Sukkur, Uch Sharif, Multan, Ajudhan came to Pakpattan in his present name and visited the shrine of Baba Farid Ganj Shakar. After Sindhbh, he passed through Punjab and reached Delhi.  Ibn Batuta was given a warm welcome. Ceremonies and feasts were held in his honor. The king appointed him as a judge. Ibn Battuta in his travelogue described the king's knowledge of friendship, generosity and strictness.  Despite all the comforts, he was afraid of the king's harshness, lest the king punish him at any time.

 At the same time, the king sent an embassy to China. His head was made by Ibn Battuta. He was very happy. Thus, traveling by sea from Delhi, he reached Kali Kit and left for the Maldives by a ship.  Gaya. It is a country of small islands. Its king was a Muslim. Here he was appointed a judge. Here the whole population was of Muslims.

 Ibn Battuta went to Lanka after Maldives and there visited the footsteps of Adam. Ibn Battuta reached China from Lanka via Java and Sumatra. Ibn Battuta in his travelogue described China as a peaceful country.  He also mentioned Chinese handicrafts, industries and paintings. He praised the Chinese pottery industry. Currency notes were still in circulation in China at that time. After the death of the king, he returned from China with the permission of the new king.  Went. Before going home, he performed Hajj again. Then he visited Spain and Sudan.

 The king of Morocco appointed him a judge. He held this position for the last fourteen years of his life. Ibn Battuta traveled for twenty-five years. He traveled one hundred and twenty thousand six hundred and seventy-five kilometers.  It is found in famous books. To date no one has viewed this travelogue with suspicion and it is considered to be true. It has been translated into major languages ​​of the world. This great tourist died in Tangier in 1368 AD.  The wind. His travelogue is enough to keep him alive.
