 The path used to cross the water is called a bridge.  In the beginning a large wooden stick was used for this purpose. After that arched bridges were built. Then modern style bridges were built with the help of scissors. Natural bridges existed in the world before Adam.  They were called beam bridges made of falling trees. Initially, wood and ropes were used to build bridges. But these bridges were not strong and long lasting. Later, man thought that strong bridges should be built.  The first focus was on building modern bridges in the Roman Empire. It focused on architecture and bridge building, and bridge building became part of the larger art of construction.  The best bridges were built in France in the 18th century. After the Industrial Revolution, work began on the construction of iron bridges, which reduced the distances between many countries. Increased people-to-people interactions and trade flourished.  During the scientific revolution, engineering made great strides.  New designs of bridges have come into existence. The types of modern bridges are as follows: Intermediate revolving bridge, broken bridge, suspended bridge, vertical rising bridge, scissor fixed bridge and intermediate revolving bridge.  Here are the three biggest bridges in the world:  A bridge built in Australia in 1932 - a traffic bridge in Portugal in 1951, a concrete bridge over the River Thames in London.  In addition, the eight-mile bridge between San Francisco and Auckland, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Roman Bridge over the Tagus River, the engineering masterpiece Scotland Bridge, the Sydney Harper Bridge, is 715 feet long.  Today, bridges are made of concrete and iron.
